I think that Esme drifted a little bit with her personality in this section. She always fought back but Mr. Turner brought her to her breaking point. I don't think that she was acting like a tough person, I think she really is, but everyone has their breaking point. Also, Ms. Coil seemed to be right next to Mr. Turner with being rude to Esme. I didn't like how Esme just agreed to go move furniture around for Ms. Coil because she was being really mean to her and knowing how Esme is, I didn't think she'd actually go. I also felt bad for her when the other teachers were making comments about her constantly starting confrontation. I don't think that's Esme's goal. I believe she just sticks up for herself. There was also a part where Esme says that Mr. Turner expects too much out of a first-year teacher and I definitely have to agree. He also told her that she outshines the teachers who have been teaching for 3-4 years, but I still don't think that should give him a reason to put a load more on Esme because she's still learning how to do things. I do like how when Ms. Coil moved Esme's poster in her classroom, that Esme went to her room and moved something of her's as well. That's the true Esme. Overall, I'm really enjoying this book and I can't wait to see how it ends.
